The Brief
Women Initiative for Prosperity (WIFOP) is a community-based organization founded in 2023 in Wajir County, Kenya. We exist to protect, empower, and uplift women and youth facing gender-based violence, marginalization, and economic hardship. Through GBV prevention, leadership development, peacebuilding, and livelihood support, we create lasting change from the ground up. Rooted in community voices and driven by local women leaders, our work challenges harmful norms, promotes inclusive governance, and builds pathways to prosperity. At WIFOP, we believe that when women and youth thrive, entire communities transform — and a more peaceful, equitable Wajir County becomes possible for all.
